关于广告影响力的雅思作文范文

　　Some people think advertising is the most influential and therefore the most artistic achievement of the twentieth century. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?有些人认为广告是有影响力的,是二十世纪的艺术的成就，你同意还是不同意这一观点呢?

 

 

　　Advertising is clearly the most influential art form in the twentieth century. It is therefore tempting to think it is also the most important. Greatest artistic achievement is determined by criteria beyond mere influence. And when we examine against these criteria, the genre of advertising does not measure up to be truly important.

　　To begin with, great art inspires us to look at the human situation from new perspectives. For example, early impressionists paintings challenge our thinking about visual perception and about the nature of the reality we see. Other works,like Rodin" s “the think” , capture our reflection with the essential value of human rationality. In stark contrast, advertising encourages people not to reflect or think at all, but simply to spend.

　　In addition, the significance of the great artistic achievement transcends time,even when it reflects a particular age. Yet advertising, by its very nature, is transient. In an eye blink, today" s hot image or slogan is yesterday" s news. It is hard to imagine even the most powerful advertisement can live beyond its currentad campaign.

　　Undoubtedly, advertising, a direct product of free market economy, will still play an important role. However, to claim ads are the greatest art is to ignore the definition of great art. These ads, in my eyes, are influential in marketing terms,but fail to fulfill the criteria for great art.
