I want to talk about David Beckham, who is not only a celebrity in the UK but also in the whole world.

David Beckham was born in Leytonstone, London in 1975. He now lived in London with his wife, Victoria Beckham, who is also a superstar, and with his four children. He is most widely known as a great English footballer but he is also a model, spokesperson and a businessman. He played football for the England National team from 1996 to 2009 and also for the famous football clubs like the Manchester United and Real Madrid. As a professional football player, he became an icon around the world and probably one of the most esteemed celebrity alive. He is a legendary footballer who had a unique style in his bending free-kicks as a right winger. In 2004, David Beckham was listed in the FIFA"s 100 greatest living player in the world. He was twice the runner-up for "FIFA World Player of the Year". These statistics are only a few to signify how famous he really is. He was one of the highest earners as a footballer in his time and in 2013, he was the highest paid player in the world.

As a fan of the UK football team, I have always liked David Beckham. He is quite an extraordinary player and a fashion figure. In my early college days, he was the footballer I wanted to be! Besides, he is a fashion icon and young generation loves his unique style very much.

My interest in him increased, even more, when he announced the "7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund" to help protect children around the world. He has been a UNICEF ambassador and his recent philanthropic works are quite exceptional and for that, I admire him greatly.

He is a great person, legendary footballer, a successful husband, a doting father, a fashion icon and finally one of the most revered celebrities not only in the UK but also in the whole world. I guess anyone knows him would admire him.

The famous person I"d like to describe is Fu Mingxia. She was a gold medallist at Sydney Olympic games. In fact, she won four of them. She won them in the diving competition. She"s now a student at Tsinghua University. So she"s quite clever and she will graduate from a top university. She"s about 25 years old. I think she must be blessed by god to be able to dive so perfectly. After all, most divers have trained in diving schools that are very sophisticated, but her training was not so privileged. She just worked hard and had a very committed coach.

I think I admire her so much because I can imagine how nervous she felt having the whole world watching her and yet she controlled that nervousness masterfully to make a perfect dive. Well, its that ability to control yourself that I"d really love to learn. Also, her diving style was unique and very-brave, and because of her innovative style, she has brought pride to her country.

I think that people can learn that by being the best at something you are not only helping yourself

but the whole country, because high quality is what improves our lives. I think people can learn that nothing is impossible if we set our minds to being the best. We shouldn"t always think we can just do what we must to get by. Our goals should be much more ambitious. We should try to be the best because we can take pride from the value of hard work in everything we do.

One person I’d really like to meet is the entrepreneur, Jack Ma. He is the founder and chairman of Alibaba, which runs websites such as Taobao and TMall. He’s the richest man in mainland China and is worth not just millions, but billions of dollars!

I first heard about Jack Ma when I saw him on the news on TV. His company is talked about a lot as so many people use their products on a daily basis and because they are making so much money. Nowadays he is not just a celebrity in China, but is known all over the world, he’s a bit like the Chinese Bill Gates.

Recently, he has been in the news because of an advertisement his company placed, asking for an attractive girl to keep up people’s morale in the office. It hit the headlines as it was seen as being sexist and misogynistic. Jack Ma had to go on TV to defend the advert and play down the story, saying it was just a bit of fun.

I’d love to meet him because he comes across as a nice guy when I see him in interviews. Even though he is filthy rich, he still seems very down-to-earth and uses a lot of his money for philanthropic acts, such as donating to education, health care and environmental causes. He also used to be an English teacher back in the day and his English is top-notch, so maybe he could give me some tips!

Ok right then, well the person I’d like to talk about is Warren Buffett, who I’m sure you know. And uh, I guess he’s quite a popular choice, so if you’ve heard this from other candidates as well, then I do apologize, but he really is someone that I’d love to meet one day, not that I think it’s gonna happen or anything! But it would be good! It would be nice!

And uh, as for how I first got to know about him, well I honestly can’t remember. I mean, I’ve known of him for about the last 10 years or so. But if I were to hazard a guess, I’d say, most likely, I heard about him from the TV, cos he crops up in the news quite a lot. So that’s probably how I first heard about him.

Anyway, going on to why he’s famous, well as I’m sure you know, he’s one of the world’s most successful investors, if not the most successful. Cos he’s made so much money from investing in various companies. You know, he seems to have a knack for choosing the right shares and finding companies which are gonna prosper.

And this kind of partly explains why I’d like to meet him. You know, I’d love to pick his brains, because I think there’s a tremendous amount I could learn from him, and not just in terms of, you know, how to pick good shares and stuff, but um, also in terms of how to uh… how can I put it…..how to kind of manage yourself in everything you do. For example, I mean, although he’s, like, super rich, he doesn’t go around flaunting his wealth. And he comes across as a really down-to-earth person, if you know what I mean. He just seems to treat everyone with the utmost respect. And it’s this um….what’s the word….um… I guess could sayhumility he shows that’s probably the number one quality I think I can learn from him.
