 对外汉语是以其他语言为母语的国家或民族的人为对象的汉语教学，也称为汉语作为外语教学或者汉语作为第二语言教学。它的任务是训练、培养学生正确使用汉语进行社会交际；对以汉语教学、研究和翻译为终身职业的学生则要求掌握必要的基础理论知识。对外汉语专业专门培养有较深汉语言文化功底、熟练掌握英语、日后能在国内外从事对外汉语教学的师资，或从事对外文化交流工作的实用型专门人才。

       这个专业主要学习三方面知识：文学、文化和语言。文学包括中国文学和外国文学，文化包括中国文化和外国文化，语言包括汉语、英语，当然还有更重要的语言学各分支学科的知识，要求英语通过专业八级考试。对外汉语专业把英语作为第一外语，汉语作为第二外语。也就是说，要会用英语作为媒介教外国人汉语。因此这个专业在中外教育交流的过程中起着非常重要的作用。

       在当今社会，越来越多的外资企业进军苏州，苏州也越来越重视对外发展。再加上越来越多的外国人对中文和中国文化的浓厚兴趣。本中心为这些人提供了一个很好的平台去学习中文，把课程分为三个等级以便学生更好的选择适合自己的课程。初级班，适合没有任何中文基础，从零开始的学习；中级班，比较适合有一点基本的中文基础的学生；高级班，更适合有一定的中文基础，能够进行基本的日常交流的学生。

对外汉语初级班

课程内容：汉语语音、汉语生活会话、汉语听述、汉字的欣赏与书写、中国国粹欣赏与实践

入学要求：汉语零基础

对外汉语中级班

课程内容：汉语生活会话与听力、汉语阅读、汉语口头作文，汉字书写、汉语基础写作、中国国粹欣赏与实践

入学要求：能够运用比较复杂的句子，完整地叙述事情的经过，已掌握有800-1000左右的单词。

对外汉语高级班

课程内容：汉语视听说、中国新闻阅读、汉语写作、中国文化论坛、中国国粹欣赏与实践

入学要求：熟练掌握汉语日常会话，已掌握有2000字以上的单词

Xué shénme What will you learn?　

l   CFL Elementary

This class will help the beginners to understand certain conversation of clear pronunciation and slow speed, and speak on certain topics in detail.

l   CFL Intermediate

This class is intended for students who learn to exchange ideas on general and academic topics, and read magazines, mails and reports on certain aspects.

l   CFL Advanced

This class is designed for the students who can speak fluent Mandarin, read or write Chinese, and are interested in being proficient. It is focusing on Chinese culture and society.

Curriculum Provision

Elementary: Be able to understand certain conversation of clear pronunciation and slow speed. Can communicate on some topics in detail, such as price, date, time, asking and giving directions.

Intermediate: Can communicate and exchange ideas relative to daily-life and professional topics such as society, academy and profession. Can understand and attend general discussions and conversation. Be able to understand most of the academic lectures speech. Be able to read Business mails and reports.

Requirements for students: can use relatively complicated Chinese sentences and give a speech on certain topics in detail, vocabulary is 800-1000.

Advanced: Be able to read articles on science and technology. Can watch to and understand Chinese TV program, can talk about some major, important and current issues. Be able to express personal opinion thoroughly and accurately.

Requirements for students: can exchange ideas fluently and read magazines, newspapers on certain topics, vocabulary is over 2000.
